Neutral Fall Outfits: 6 Elegant Amazon Looks in Cream, Brown and Black

Neutral fall outfits are what I end up wearing almost every single day once the weather turns. Between work, my toddler, and the occasional night out, I do not have time to think hard about getting dressed, and cream, brown and black make it so easy. Everything matches, everything looks polished, and I can mix the same pieces all season long.
This week I put together six looks I have been loving, from a soft cream date night look to an all-black outfit for the office. Every piece is from Amazon, and when the same outfit is on LTK too, I linked both so you can shop wherever you like.
If you want more ideas, my fall work outfits and satin skirt outfits posts mix right in with these.
6 Neutral Fall Outfits From Amazon
Look 1: Ivory One-Shoulder Top and an Oatmeal Knit Midi Skirt
This is my favorite way to wear cream for a night out. An ivory one-shoulder ruched top with a soft oatmeal knit midi skirt feels elegant and feminine, and because everything stays in the same color family, it looks polished without trying too hard.
An ivory top-handle bag and slingback kitten heels keep it classic, and gold hoops with a simple watch warm up all that cream. I would wear this to dinner, drinks, or a holiday party, and it is comfortable enough to actually enjoy the night.
Look 2: Chocolate Blazer, Pleated Shorts and Knee-High Boots
Blazer and shorts is one of my favorite ways to keep wearing shorts into fall. A chocolate blazer with gold buttons over the same ivory one-shoulder top, plus brown pleated shorts, gives you that head-to-toe brown look that always feels expensive.
Suede knee-high boots are what make it seasonal, and a woven brown bag adds texture. Notice I reused the ivory top from Look 1. That is the whole idea behind neutrals: one good piece works with everything.
Look 3: Black Belted Wrap Sweater With Wide-Leg Trousers
Black counts as a neutral too, and an all-black outfit is the easiest way I know to look put together on a busy morning. A belted wrap sweater with black wide-leg trousers is sleek, simple, and so easy to wear on repeat for work.
A big woven black tote holds everything I need, and pointed pumps keep it sharp. I switched to silver knot earrings here, which feels a little crisper with black. This is the look I reach for on a Monday full of meetings.
Look 4: Chocolate Wrap Top and Cream Trousers
Chocolate and cream is one of my favorite fall color combinations, period. A brown wrap top with cream wide-leg trousers looks soft and polished, and it is just as nice for the office as it is for lunch with a friend.
A brown woven bag and brown mules tie back to the top, and gold hoops with a gold watch finish it. If you only try one combination from this post, make it this one.

Look 5: Espresso Lace Top and Straight-Leg Jeans
Denim works with neutrals so well, and this is how I make jeans feel ready for a night out. An espresso lace top over classic blue straight-leg jeans has a little romance to it, and the deep brown keeps it rich instead of loud.
A brown leather clutch, brown mules, and gold hoops with a watch pull it all together. It is an easy date night outfit when you want to feel dressed up but still like yourself.

Look 6: Beige Asymmetric Top and Cream Pleated Trousers
Tonal beige is the quietest way to look elegant. A beige asymmetric long-sleeve top with cream pleated trousers is soft and modern, and the twist at the neckline gives it just enough interest.
A canvas and brown top-handle bag adds contrast, nude slingback pumps make your legs look a mile long, and gold hoops with a mesh watch keep it warm. I wear this one to work, but it is just as nice for a weekend lunch.

How I Style Neutral Fall Outfits So They Never Feel Boring
The secret to neutrals is texture. When the colors are quiet, the fabrics get to do the talking: a knit skirt, a woven bag, suede boots, a little lace. Mixing two or three textures in one outfit keeps it from looking flat.
I also stick to one metal per look, usually gold with cream and brown and sometimes silver with black. And I repeat my favorite pieces on purpose. The ivory one-shoulder top shows up twice in this post because a small set of neutrals is really the start of a capsule wardrobe. If you want to build one, my capsule wardrobe beginner’s guide walks you through it.
